My mom used to work there.. and she tells me stories about weird things that happened. She tells me how they'd get 3 calls a day about Arabs at the front door asking to speak to someone.. she jokes that the strangest part about their military security is how they gave you another key to the outside door, which defeats the purpose of having a keycard and camera. She talks about how often their elevators broke, and how the Emergency phone just rings forever before someone picks up. She talks about how the soil outside the embassy is literally cemented so that no one can burrow underneath. She's told me stories about their espresso machine not working properly, and how they'd have to go down to the second floor to use their espresso machine. I've always wondered what must have been on the second floor. She told me how their was a map of Canada on the wall and it said "Israel" instead of "Quebec" and "Tel Aviv" instead of "Toronto". She's told me about how the cameras outside the building get stolen and how they always get stolen a few weeks after they replace it. I've always wondered why she quit working there, and I'm finally ready to ask her why. I know that she left her job for a reason.
