This subject is very similar to another cmv I posted that I took down because I was looking for something very specific, but I don't think this is exactly the same. I'm looking for people who don't think reverse racism is a problem, or who think reverse racism doesn't exist.

The other day I heard an interview with a nobody of a public figure who does activism for a particular race. I'm trying to keep this vague because I don't want anyone to be high jacked by and identity politics. He said that racism being "prejudice + power" is a perfect definition of the term. I've heard this definition a lot, but I think it is a terrible standard for anyone to live by. Power is a subjective term that can mean a lot of things, and especially depending on the person. If you set your standards for what you think is racism too low, you become complicit with actual racists who believe that racism is only the n word being thrown out by a white person.

That's a perfect example of the "white guilt" that plagues today's society. White people have this image in their heads of the old south where every white person was lining up to lynch the nearest black person. I have white friends who literally think they owe black people something because of their color. In reality, most of the southern population were indifferent of the whole matter, and would never lynch a black person themselves, but they never spoke up because it was a social norm, kind of like how you wouldn't speak up against the extremely vocal left on social media or you will be ostracized.

This brings me to my next point, why does everyone on the left scream about micro-aggressions when they commit the same crime in the opposite direction? I'm white, and I have been thrown racial slurs at before, but I don't give a shit because I know that just because someone of a different color was a dickhead to me doesn't mean everyone of that color is. Black people don't owe me anything just like I don't owe them anything. Reverse racism is a genuine problem that is not being addressed. I have been to public meetings where people were only there to listen to other black people talk. If I wanted to voice my concerns I would be called a racist for trying to talk, so I had to go through some black person and hope they brought it up.

A lot of white people complain about how they don't get treated as an individual. People think we are privileged in a lot of ways, which I agree we are, but that doesn't change the fact that the left has a huge problem with white people because they think they owe them something. It's not the individual that is the problem, it is the individual who has a prejudice. It is not the white people who are privileged and have power, it is the white people who are racist that are the problem. If we're going to make genuine progress as a society, this double standard has got to go.
