Idk if were in the matrix or not but this is weird as hell

I was watching YouTube just now and I was playing the video on my phone with google chromecast hooked up to my smart tv, the video on my phone froze but it kept playing on my tv and then I got a video recommendations sliding in screen on my phone that wasn't there before it was a "watch this next" recommendation, I've streamed this way alot and that never happens, anyone else experience this before?
