Hey Americans, is the situation really as bad as it looks from outside?

It seems that 1/3 of the country are a bunch of obsessed, crazy people, another 1/3 is the opposite and then there's 1/3 that are in between and are really split. I don't get why the 1/3 in the middle even exists. And why does the USA not put a stop to the 1/3 insane people. Do they have that much political power?<br><br>Those are my questions.
