CMV: The most terrifying thing about Trump is that his opponents are finally seeing what many conservatives have been dealing with for the past eight years

EDIT: This thread is locked because it gets overrun with trolls every time it gets posted to r/all. If you want to message me or chat, feel free.

EDIT 3: Holy crap this blew up fast. Thanks for the gold, kind redditor. I love reading the comments, but I have to get some work done. If you think you can change my view, please feel free to come at me with whatever you've got.

EDIT: I know some people are going to say, "But Obama wasn't hateful!" And you're right, he wasn't. The thing is, Trump hasn't really done anything yet either. Through the beginning of Obama's presidency, we had 8 years of Bush to look at and we hated it. Now at the beginning of Trump's presidency, you have 8 years of Obama to look at and you love it. All I'm saying is it's scary to see someone in that seat who you disagree with on so many things.

As a conservative, I remember the dread of seeing Obama be re-elected. I remember thinking, "Four more years of this guy? He's going to ruin our country." And now conservatives are finally able to see what the other side felt like for eight years. I've so far heard 30 times more people talk about how they want Trump to be impeached or how they want him to be assassinated than I ever heard about Obama.

I'm not saying they're the same person or that Trump is a good president, but it's kind of hypocritical to act like you're so scared now when you wouldn't listen for the past eight years.

EDIT 2: I've never used throwaway comments before, but I feel this is an exception. I made this throwaway for this post specifically, because while I have no problem stating my political views on my main account, I do not want to associate myself with this post outside of this thread. You see, this post, in addition to being an obvious troll, is just flat out fucking stupid. Not only does it shame people for expressing their political views, opinions that you are legally allowed to have in this country, it also eagerly fantasizes that liberals felt nothing when Obama was elected president. Let me tell you a story about why this is wrong. In 2012, my dad was so excited when Obama was re-elected. So much so that he wrote a poem about it. He had been to a watch party, and he drank a little too much. He wrote this poem in the car while my mom drove them home, and he recited it out loud in the car. His poem was about freedom, and progress, and the first line was "Four more years, four more years." And then my dad got cancer. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor just before Obama's second inauguration. A month later he was dead.

So, every time I see this post, it pisses me off. In addition to being a troll, it also shamelessly tries to make you feel guilty for expressing your views. So when I see this, I think of my dad. And I wish he was here to see all of this shit. I wish he could have written that poem and then lived long enough to see the next presidential inauguration. I wish I had gotten to see that. I wish I had gotten to see my dad grow old, to see him get to experience the rest of his life. I wish I had gotten to see him be happy.

But I didn't, and I never will. All I have is that poem. All I really have from him at all is that poem, a fucking Facebook post he made about how much he loved me, and a letter that he wrote me the night before he died. I'm still trying to go through all of these things. I was only 10 when my dad died, and I am now 14, and haven't figured out how to go through all of this stuff without crying yet.

I've been sitting here in class for ten minutes now, and I still haven't figured it out. So, all of you people who saw this post and thought, "Wow, this is a well written post! I think I'll upvote it!" Listen to me. That post is fucking stupid. It shames people for feeling scared. It shames people for expressing their views. It is the same thing that Trump did when he said, "They lost." It's also pretty much the same thing as Trump saying, "Just wait and see." Both of those things were wrong, and this post is wrong too. This post reeks of fucking privilege, and it reeks of fucking ignorance. So, no, I will not upvote your shitty post just because it agrees with my political views. Your post is fucking stupid, and you should fucking get a fucking grip.
