Why can't the media just tell us what AI can do already and not what the media thinks AI can do?

It's like the media can't stop themselves from sensationalizing unlike a 14 year old on TikTok with a picture of a ovened potato stating that the potato has " the ability to heal itself from any wound" . I feel like every time a media article mentions AI, it just makes me cringe. Why can't we have actual and realistic news about what AI can do and not what these "experts" predict what it can do in the future. I'm tired of hearing about how a language model can make medical diagnoses and then have the studies say that the language model's diagnoses are only about 50% correct. That's not a diagnosis , that's a 1 out of 50 guesses.
