My middle aged brother doesn’t think there’s any difference between a rifle and a shotgun. I think he’s being ignorant. Help me out with this list.

I’ve tried many times over the years to explain the differences, but all he does is get mad at me. <br><br>He owns two firearms, an AR and a pistol. Has never even fired a shotgun. <br><br>I’m writing a short list of the differences, and I’d greatly appreciate any help I can get. <br><br>I’ll tuck the list away for the next time he pulls this move. <br><br>My list so far:<br>As far as how they work, a shotgun works like a pistol. A rifle works like… well, if you’ve ever seen a bow and arrow. <br><br>Rifles are more accurate than shotguns, but the effective range of a rifle is much much greater than a shotgun. <br><br>A shotgun is used for close range, a rifle is used for longer ranges. ( I know there are exceptions, like trap, but I’m not going to add that to my list )
