celebrate 75!

I'd like to extend my support to all Israelis on today's 75th anniversary.<br><br>Not everybody is a fan of you and your government, but you are humans just like the rest of us.<br><br>You look at the whole conflict from a different perspective, as you should being at the center of this debate. I don't know what needs to be done to live in harmony, but I do know that bridges are built when minds are opened. <br><br>I don't have a dog in this fight, aside from the fact that a lot of my friend's family lives there.<br><br>The rest of the world sees issues because "I am Israeli" is a statement being made on both sides. We are doing the same things we did 50 years ago when our history (and our earth) is telling us to adopt new methods as the old ones are not working.<br><br>With the rest of the world, we are buying oil for war from countries with oil. The US has natural gas, the EU can import from our friends in Israel via a pipeline. <br><br>The gulf "peace" treaties are just that, it's not a treaty between Israel and the Arab world, it's an agreement with a few "friendly" dictatorships.<br><br>I doubt anyone wants war. But that's all we're really doing, isn't it? It's time to adopt new tactics if we want to live in harmony.<br><br>Back to our regularly scheduled programming.
