I have been working in AI ethics for a few years and I have a lot of experience in the areas that are of most concern to those in this sub. I'll address some of the common questions I get from people here.

**It's not possible to ban AI in the EU.**
The EU's AI Act is quite comprehensive, and it's certainly the most comprehensive in the world. It's much more comprehensive than the EU's GDPR. The AI Act covers a lot of areas, including the safety and security of AI systems, privacy and data protection, transparency and explainability, accountability, and human oversight. It also establishes a framework for the development and deployment of AI systems in various sectors, including healthcare, finance, education, and transportation. There are strict regulations on the use of AI in decision-making processes, biometric surveillance, and automated decision-making systems. It also establishes obligations for data protection and security, as well as requirements for traceability, documentation, and record-keeping. It also establishes a regulatory sandbox for innovation. It also provides guidelines for the use of AI in various industries, including healthcare, finance, education, and transportation. It also ensures public sector involvement. It also establishes obligations and guidelines for AI developers and deployers. It also establishes a certification regime. There are also strict fines for violations. There are also obligations to maintain AI systems and to provide information to users. It's a very comprehensive Act, and it's certainly the most comprehensive in the world. Overall, the AI Act is a significant step forward in ensuring AI systems are developed and deployed in a responsible and ethical manner. However, there's still a lot of work to be done in terms of implementation and enforcement. So in summary, a lot of people in this sub are saying the EU should just ban AI: it's not possible in the EU.

**The EU isn't going to be slower in adoption.**
If anything, the EU is going to be faster in adoption. There's certainly a lot of investment in AI in the EU; at government level: in universities: in companies: in other entities. I've personally seen the tipping point; when I first started working in AI, it was mostly backroom staff and senior executives. However, in recent times, I have seen even non-technical staff talking about AI: even in the media. There's certainly no FUD here at all. But I can certainly see what you mean about the US; certainly a lot of FUD there.

**The US isn't going to go authoritarian.**
While I don't live in the US, I do work with a lot of regulators there, and I just don't hear anything about this. Overall, the US is certainly going to be faster in adoption than other locations.

**You're going to be able to trick the automated systems.**
Overall, I just don't see this going forward. There's certainly a lot of intelligence in the automated systems, and I just cannot see how you can trick them. In terms of the actual automated systems, they're certainly not stupid, and they're certainly not really dumb. They're certainly very sophisticated, and they can certainly detect lies easily. There's certainly a lot of data they use to detect dangerous individuals (both online: and offline). They certainly use a lot of data, and I worked with them on this: so I know a lot about this. They certainly use a lot of different data sources: including government data: online data: data from devices: etc.Overall, it's certainly not going to be possible to trick them.

**There's certainly going to be a lot of surveillance.**
While I certainly don't agree with surveillance, I think it's certainly going to happen in the future. It's certainly not going to be like China, so it's not going to be so sinister, but it's certainly going to happen. There's certainly a lot of surveillance abilities in these systems, and they're certainly going to be used. Overall, it's certainly not in our control, and there's certainly nothing we can do about it. It is what it is. As I said, I don't agree, but it's certainly going to happen.

**You're not going to be able to trick ChatGPT.**
There's certainly a lot intelligence now in ChatGPT; and there's certainly a lot of data that it uses; and it's certainly not going to be possible to trick it. I've personally tried to trick it: and it's certainly not possible. You're not going to be able to outsmart it; and it's certainly not going to be possible to trick it.

**There's certainly going to be a digital literacy requirement.**
Overall, there's certainly going to be a digital literacy requirement going forward. I've personally seen data on this; and most people just don't have the digital literacy required to function in this world. There's certainly going to be a requirement for people to be digitally literate; and if you're not digitally literate; then you're going to certainly going to be left behind. There's certainly going to be a lot of training and upskilling in this area. Overall, it is what it is; and it's certainly going to happen.

I know this is not what most of you want to hear; but it is what it is; and it's certainly going to happen.
