AITA for refusing to allow my adult sons to bring their “pets” to Christmas dinner

I am the only girl/middle child and have 3 brothers/2 sisters in law.

My husband, Tom (44) and i (43)have three boys and a daughter(21F) and live on 10 acres. Tom and I love animals. We have 4 dogs, 2 cats, and a mini donkey.

All three of our sons (25, 29, 31) are off the property and on their own now. And yes, they each have pets. The thing is, these pets are exotic.

The oldest has a bear. It’s a female black bear. She’s truly adorable and I do love her. But, I do not love the 30 other bears he has on his property. He’s a bear breeder and has been since he was 18. Every year he comes to Christmas at our house with his favorite, Dorthea, and honestly she’s just like one of the dogs. But she’s still a bear.

Our middle son has a panther. It’s a black panther. I’m not sure what species it is exactly, but he got it when it was tiny. It’s not tiny anymore and is truly magnificent. I do worry about it escaping at our house only because it’s not like our little mini donkey anymore.

Our youngest has two wolves. Again, got them when they were tiny and they were cute. Now they are huge, impossibly strong and only answer to commands when they feel like answering to commands. They aren’t bad animals but they aren’t domesticated. And they are totally unpredictable and make me nervous.

This year I told my boys that we would love to have them and their spouses and children to Christmas dinner without the pets. They went absolutely ballistic. I was called a monster, an asshole, and a terrible mother.

AITA?
