What if the world was "created" by something that is not widely known to the general public?

It is a common theme in worldbuilding, as well as in most religions, that the world was created by a deity of some sort. This could vary from a single deity, multiple deities, pantheon, the Flying Spaghetti Monster, or whatever else. <br><br>So what I am trying to explore is the idea that the world was created by something not widely known in the public eye. I am looking at things like, memes, parasites, widely used worldly phrases, and other things that are not typically associated with creation. <br><br>So I ask you, what if the world was "created" by something that is not widely known to the general public? What are your thoughts on the topic?
