So I stole a bunch of stuff, I'm fairly sure that most employees knew me, but I'd never gotten in trouble. Yesterday was the day i got caught. I went through the motions of apologizing, and they took down my info, the camera footage of me stoling, and went through my stuff.

After that, they handed me off to another security guard, who took me to a small office. There was a man and a woman there, both in street clothes. they didn't have badges, but I assumed they were cops. The male started by saying that he was an investigator, but that wasn't his real name, then he went on to say he wasn't a cop, but he had the power of arrest.

They then proceeded to ask me more questions like if I was on drugs, I said no. If I had ever been caught before, I said no. The woman asked if I *felt* like I was in trouble. I said yes.

Then the woman said "You are not in any trouble. Those people outside are not the police and are unaware that youre in here. This is a private investigation being conducted by my husband, who I will refer to as Agent Thompson."

The Agent then went on a rant about how he was ex NYPD and now he investigates and arrests shoplifters on his own. He said he had been following me for months and had tracked my entire shoplifting network through me. He then reached behind him and showed me a map covered in pins of all the places I'd hit over the past year.

The woman was very nice and kept reassuring me that I wasn't in trouble, but the Agent hinted that he had arrest powers multiple times. He said he was going to give me a choice. Either be arrested or do some "work" for him. I obviously chose the work. He said he wanted me to lift specific items in specific areas. He gave me a map of my own to mark the places I was successful. He said he would stop by daily to collect the goods and the map. He warned that if I stole anything else he would have me arrested and the woman would not be there to help me. He was kinda of a creepy guy and seemed to be using his power to assert his masculinity over his wife.

I left with the feeling that I was in some weird spy thriller movie.
