CMV: The man who threatened my son.

My son is 3.<br>One day last fall, I was walking with him across a street.<br>The street was across from our house, and I had just come from the park with him.<br>During the half block between the park and the street, a car started tailgating us.<br>I ignored him and kept walking, but he kept coming.<br>We had just turned the corner and he was still behind us, and I had an odd feeling about it.<br>I noticed he was creeping up behind us, and there were no other cars in sight.<br>So I walked into the road and blocked him.<br>I put my hand up, and looked him in the eye, and told him I was there first.<br>He smiled and kept coming.<br>He inched closer and closer, and I considered moving.<br>I was not going to give this asshole the satisfaction of a victory, but I also didn’t want to die.<br>We were both in the street now, and he started honking at me and yelling.<br>I told him to fuck off, and he got closer.<br>Then out of nowhere my son started yelling “What the fuck!?”<br>The man slammed on his brakes and stopped.<br>He looked at my son, and his face turned red with anger.<br>He jumped out of the car and rushed me.<br>He didn’t see it, but I was in tears, because I was on the phone with 911.<br>I put it in my pocket early, and kept it there.<br>The operator thought I had hung up, but I had put the phone in my pocket and was just walking away.<br>The operator had heard my son, and was telling me that cops were 2 miles away.<br>And that was all I heard as the man approached me.<br>I stepped aside, and let him cross the street.<br>He went by me, and kept walking and screaming at me.<br>I turned my back and kept walking.<br>I didn’t look back, and kept telling the operator my address.<br>I walked to my front door, and opened it.<br>As we walked inside I saw the man walk by my house, without looking at it.<br>I shut the door, and my son looked at me.<br>He said “That man was mean.”<br>And I said that yes he was.<br>We waited for a while, and I kept looking out my blinds.<br>This was my house, and I wasn’t going to cower in the corner of it.<br>So I kept looking out, and not seeing anything.<br>The cops came, and I went outside to talk to them.<br>I gave them my story, and they searched my street.<br>They went to my neighbors house, and talked to him.<br>I saw him give them a thumbs up, and they took off.<br>Later that day a cop came to my door, without me calling him back.<br>He told me that my neighbor had seen the man jump out of the car.<br>He said the man was made at me, not my son.<br>And that he didn’t know my son was there until he was right on me.<br>He told me he didn’t think the man would be back, but if he was to give him a call.<br>I thanked the officer and shut the door.<br>CMV, the man who tried to run me and my son over.
