What if the Midgard Serpent was a misunderstood hero?

Midgard is a world partially inhabited by humans, but primarily lit by the Sun, a burning ball of fusion in close proximity to the planet. Most of the inhabitants have no idea that the sun is slowly burning the world away, but one of them does.<br><br>A being born from the earth, Jörmungandr is the son of Loki, God of Mischief and Thor, God of Thunder. After maltreatment by both gods and mortals he decides to claim revenge on the gods, in the process of which he eats the Sun, but it has not been digested. At the end of the world, he will be the only one left to reclaim the earth with his partially digested food.
