My wife has been peeking at me from around corners and behind furniture. It's gone from weird to terrifying

I was in the kitchen making some coffee this morning when I felt that familiar sensation that I was being watched. I looked to my right and saw my wife, Sarah, peeking at me from behind the island counter. When she saw me smile at her, she popped back out of view like a little kid playing hide and seek.

I thought nothing of it, even thought it was cute, and went on my way to get us each a cup of coffee. After setting one of the cups down on our living room coffee table, I felt that sensation again. I looked over and saw her peeking at me from around the back of our couch.

I thought it was still cute, but starting to get a little weird. I asked her if she was okay, and she said she was fine. She then returned to peeking at me. I shook my head and walked to the stairs with the other cup of coffee.

She was waiting for me in the hallway. She wasn't hiding behind anything, just standing in front of a door watching me. I said hi and handed her the coffee. There was no reply, all she kept doing was staring.

I wasn't sure what to do, so I ignored her and went into the bathroom to get ready for work. She was behind the mirror, peeking between the wall and the bottom of it at me. I said hi again, and got no response.

I'm not sure what's wrong with my wife. She's been acting strange for the last week or so, but last night it turned from strange to scary. I have no idea what's going on, and at this point I just want to help her, but she won't let me in.

Last night, I was reading a book on the couch when I felt that sensation again. I looked over at the TV and saw her peeking out from behind it. I said hi as I always did, but she didn't peek back at me. My brain finally caught up and I realized something was wrong.

I got off the couch to walk over to her, but she had already scurried off. I called out to her, but she didn't answer. It was starting to get dark, and the house was creepy. I figured she was still acting strange, and went back to my book, constantly checking over my shoulder to see if I saw her.

I didn't see her until I went to bed. I called out to her, saying I'm going to bed and she can join me anytime, she didn't answer. I got in bed and a few minutes later I felt the sensation again. She was hiding behind a chair on my side of the bed. I talked to her, her parents, begged her to come to bed, she didn't return my calls.

My brain finally caught up, and I realized something was seriously wrong. At first I thought she was just being strange, but I never thought that she was having a serious problem. I wanted to make sure she was okay, I wanted to see if she'd talk to me if I tried harder.

I had an idea. I got out of bed and walked over to her chair. She scurried into the hallway, out of my view. I walked back to the bed and got in, but didn't stop staring at the open doorway. 3 seconds later, I saw her pop into view, peeking around the frame.

"Hi honey!" I said, and she popped back out of view. I got out of bed again and walked over to her chair. Again, as soon as I got out of bed, she scurried into the hallway. I waited until I saw her face again and said "Hi honey!"

She popped back out of my view and I felt a cold breeze run down my spine.

"How are you moving so quickly?" I said loudly. I knew the answer before I even asked. She was too fast to be my wife. I knew that I wasn't even talking to her anymore.

I want to help her so bad, and I know she's in that thing. I don't know what it is, but I want my wife back. I don't know what to do, and I'm afraid of that thing now.
