There is nothing satisfying about this shit anymore

I’m 17 years a high school English teacher, and the last 18 months have felt like a never ending shitshow.<br><br>It’s absolute chaos. So many teachers out sick or with COVID. We’re just expecting subs to wrangle 30 teenagers and teach children who haven’t seen a class in weeks. <br><br>This isn’t teaching. This is dealing with chaos. Every. Single. Day. <br><br>I love my subject. I love sharing it with my students and hearing their insights. I love watching them develop their writing. I love all the decent teacher stuff.<br><br>But, honestly, there is absolutely nothing satisfying about the job anymore.
