CMV: Fat people need to stop being proud of their weight

Hey guys, this is a bit of a weird one for me to post, as i myself am a bit overweight (5'11 and 192 lbs or 88 KG) so I understand that being overweight can be difficult, and i'm not trying to shame anyone. I just want to express my opinion here. I understand this may offend some people, and for that, I apologize.<br><br>Right now we seem to be in the midst of a movement where everyone who is overweight is saying "Hey, i'm proud to be myself"<br><br>I hate to break it to you guys, but you should NOT be proud of being overweight. In fact, you should be ashamed of yourself.<br><br>Being overweight for discretionary reasons (such as letting yourself eat too much) is one of the laziest and most selfish things you could do, in my opinion. If you are overweight because of a medical condition or because you were born this way, then that's a different issue and i'm not talking about you here.<br><br>The rest of you need to get your shit together. Its costing the rest of us a LOT of money to cater to you and to send you to the Hospital. Not only that, but you are making the world you live in worse for everyone. You are putting unneeded strain on the healthcare system that is in use for people who actually need it. You are also making it acceptable for children to become overweight, which is leading to an early death sentence for them.<br><br>I also want to talk about this trend of "Fat is beautiful" bullcrap that people are feeding these children. Fat is NOT beautiful, fat is disgusting. I don't care if someone says "Well, you're just a young and ignorant white boy with abs so of course you would think that"<br><br>Right is right and wrong is wrong, and there may be many things about the world which are subjective, but this isn't one of them. Being overweight is terrible for you, its terrible for the rest of us, and if you are overweight, you owe it to yourself and the society you live in to do your best to get in shape. The only place where being fat is beautiful is on a skeletal cartoon pig in a Disney animated movie from the 90's, other than that, it is not and will never be.
