What if Earth had no moon? (Not to be confused with what if the moon didn't exist)

The moon is a massive rock that exists outside of earths atmosphere with no functions other than to illuminate the night half of the planet it exists in the gravitational orbit of. The rock has no atmosphere to carry heat onto the earth which is why it is freezing cold at night, and will be frozen if the Sun where to vanish. This rock is also why the oceans have any tides or waves, killing anything on the surface/floor of the deep ocean that doesn't adapt or evolve very quickly. This moon also slows down the rotation speed of the earth, making our days unnecessarily longer.

If this stupid rock never existed it would mean that the oceans would work the way they should, with deep ocean currents circulating heat and nutrients allowing marine life to thrive. Species would adapt faster because they would have far less obstacles and harsherliving conditions to evolve through. Because earths rotation would also be faster, we would also have extra heat on a global scale because shorter days means more days in the same time period.

What would this mean for life on Earth?
