What if the solar system was able to be colonized (and had been for thousands of years) but life in space had proven to be severely detrimental to the human body, and Earth was the only known destination that could help someone live long enough to see a 300th birthday?

I’ve been thinking about this concept and it seems like if we could colonize and had been for thousands of years, that it would be really interesting to explore the opposite of the concept of what we might be used to.

If I understand correctly, the concept most people expect is this scenario:

Humans become advanced to the point where they can live in a planet other than Earth. Over time, they adapt to it and become a different species from humans. Humans realize they are not alone in the universe.

However, my concept is this:

Humans are able to become advanced to the point where they can explore and live in the other planets in the solar system. Humans discover other planets in the solar system and adapt to them (before the 18th century). Humans adapt to the planets through technology (like robots and other things) and other humans, and with the help of a few other planets (like Jupiter), they form colonies. Humans become advanced to the point where they can live thousands of years (through new technology or robots or things like that).

However, they soon realize that technology cannot solve the effects of long term space travel (like on the human body, or diseases, or other things). Humans realize they are not alone in the universe.

This is where the concept of Earth comes into play. Over time, humans have become aware of the effects of long term space travel and how it can harm the body. The only way to cure these effects is to go to Earth. They live there for a decade or two and then the effects go away, but the planets are still aware of the risks.

This creates tensions when humans start returning to Earth. They are seen as newcomers who only care about the planet when they get sick, but the humans who live on the planet have been there for thousands of years and have grown attached to it.

There is also the concept of humans who have adapted to the planets and do not get sick from space travel. These humans live for thousands of years and tend to be elite and wealthy. They are at the top of society and look down on humans who live on Earth. They also are the ones who typically live on the most elite planets.

However, even these humans are not immune from the effects of space travel. If they get too far away from the planet, they will still get sick.

This creates tension between the elite and the Earth born humans. The elite see the Earth as a safety net, a place they can go to and be cured of any diseases they have.

The Earth born humans see the elite as the outsiders, the ones who only care about the planet because they want to cure their diseases. They see the elite as the ones who are ruining the planet, who are taking advantage of its resources and destroying the planet's ecosystem.

This creates a lot of tension between the two groups, and it's likely that there will be a lot of conflict in the future.
