Well, Ukraine DID IT

Especially after a major loss of the Russian army in Balakleia and the capture of Kupyansk, as well as a stalemate in Kharkiv, Ukrainian forces launched a counter offensive. And, suddenly, a lot was liberated. <br><br>Ilyinovka and Vishnevka were occupied on 27 February. Everything was liberated within 3 days. The day after that, the Ukrainian soldiers entered Borodyanka. More than half of Kyiv was liberated at the end of March. <br><br>And it is now August 27th of the year of our Lord two thousand twenty two when Ukraine has officially-liberated Balakleia. <br><br>Six months. Six months since Russia started a full scale war. Six months since Ukraine began pushing them away. And six months since Russia first realized it wouldn't be a walk in the park. But Ukraine continued to liberate the land like clockwork til the very end. <br><br>Russia, however, took a lot longer to realize it wouldn't be a walk in the park. They said they would take Kyiv in 4 days. That Kharkiv would be "liberated" in 5. Borodyanka in 6. They said Kherson would fall in 2 weeks. It's been 6 months and we haven't seen the slightest sign of anything even close to that. <br><br>But look now. Ukraine lost to Russia because they thought incorrectly. They believed a war would never come in the 21st century. But Russia lost Ukraine because they DIDN'T. They realized war WAS coming and they were ready for it. Russia took a month to realize that a war wasn't coming. Ukraine took 6 months to show them who's boss.<br><br>But that was the point of this war: to show them who's boss. Ukraine was a Russian colony. A vassal, a satellite, a vessel, a territory to do with as they pleased. They wanted to make Ukraine their Ukraine. The lesser. The inferior. The unrecognized. The reason Ukraine fought was to prove who was the lesser. <br><br>It most certainly wasn't Ukraine. And the entire world knows it. Now, Russia is a pariah. The invading rogue state whose war of aggression has caused inflation, poverty, and starvation. Russia will be remembered as the bully who was bullied. Ukraine DID IT. Ukraine defeated Russia.
