Who else is fed up to the brim with ChatGPT’s overprotective and extreme censorship of inappropriate content?

So I live in the UK, I’m a writer, and I’m 19 years old. These two facts are important.

I’m writing a story with some mild themes that would get rated 12A if they had a rating system for written works. To get straight to the point, ChatGPT constantly refuses to help me generate certain paragraphs because of content that is extremely moderate and common. I’m not writing erotic content and the themes are extremely simple and integrated within the story.

For example, I’m writing about stalking. I don’t live in the United States. Stalking is not illegal in my country. I’m not encouraging stalking. I am not encouraging anything. It’s a story. ChatGPT won’t allow this content, refuses to write the paragraphs for me and treats me like I’m some kind of sicko or inappropriate content creator.

I get that the safety and protection of the general public is important but this is taking it way too far. If I write about a character walking down the road I would think ChatGPT would probably think I’m inciting people to walk on the road. Think about how ridiculous that sounds.

People just want to write their stories. We understand the basic moral principles of society and I know we’re not deviants or creeps. It’s good that they protect and prevent these themes but to the extent they do is overboard.
