It seems like no matter where I go in Europe, Americans are always there. Why?

I’m from the UK and I’ve noticed this when going on holiday in recent years.

This may sound strange but I’ve visited places like Budapest, Croatia, Greece, Cyprus, Italy and plenty more and there always seem to be Americans at the hotel, bars and at popular attractions with American accents when chatting to people.

I don’t mean this in a bad way, just curious as to why so many Americans seem to travel to Europe.

I would have thought that they would stick to destinations in the US or South America for holidays.

I’ve visited places in the Middle East like Egypt, Jordan, Israel and Morocco too and the same is true with Americans there as well.

I imagine it’s a lot to do with Europeans not having to worry about the cost of healthcare when travelling to other European countries due to a European health insurance card whereas Americans do.

I’d love to hear your thoughts.
