What if healthcare companies were required to make 0% profit?

Just another question that popped into my head. <br><br>I understand it would still be an imperfect system. There would likely have to be some sort of overall governing of prices, and it would probably need a massive overhaul of the entire system of medical billing and insurance claims. But if you could remove any concept of profit motive out of the picture, would costs go down significantly? Would it take away the incentive for healthcare companies to be so aggressive in their billing and price setting, or their willingness to perform unnecessary tests/procedures?
