My best friend patronizes me and makes me feel stupid.

I'm an adult. I won't say more detail. I have known this friend, let's call her Chloe, for more than 10 years. I've known her for most of my adult life. She's warm and kind and a great friend in most ways. But she constantly talks down to me and makes me feel stupid.<br><br>She often tries to explain things to me, even things I know about or even things I'm an expert in. Like things I've done for years and she's only done briefly. I'll ask her for advice and she'll then tell me what I already know, as if I didn't know it.<br><br>I've done things she's never done, but she patronizes me. She talks to me in a patronizing voice. A soothing voice, always trying to calm me down. <br><br>I feel stupid and inferior to her and I really want to tell her to stop but how? It's so demeaning. <br><br>I'm not a child.
