Why do so many teachers hate the parents?

I’ve never seen so muchManufacturer hate for parents as I have on this sub and I am very unfamiliar with it.

I have been a teacher for almost 12 years and I have met my fair share of shitty parents. But overall I believe it is not my place to bad mouth them or complain about them to my students. I am a professional and I need to maintain that. I have met plenty of parents who don’t show up to meetings, parent-teacher conferences, etc. But that’s their choice, not mine. They have other priorities.

I also don’t let the negativity of one parent push me away from the rest of the parents, just because one parent was a jerk doesn’t mean they all are. There is a huge difference between a negative community of parents and individual negative parents.

And I also agree with the saying “When you point fingers, there are three pointing back at you.” it’s so true.

This sub, however, is a completely different story. Every other post is about how shitty parents are or how lazy they are or etc etc etc. Every other comment is bashing parents for whatever reason.

What’s wrong with you people? You are professionals yet you trash your coworkers, your kids, and now the parents? Did you get into the wrong profession? Are you that unhappy? Do you need to find a different job? Why do you hate and talk shit about parents so much? I have never met a single teacher in my 12 years that talks shit about parents like the people on this sub do.

If I ever heard another teacher talk like that, I would definitely keep my child away from them and would want them fired.

I don’t know, maybe I just don’t get it.
