CMV: The United States should never have bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki

The use of the atomic bombs killed a huge number of innocent Japanese civilians and caused large amounts of destruction which would not really help in winning the war. What would have made more sense was for the United States to have simply *demonstrated* the power of the bomb to the Japanese and threatened its use on almost all major Japanese cities if they did not surrender.<br><br>Edit: Spelling mistake in title.
