CMV: You should thank the employees you interact with at retail jobs.

It's the day after thanksgiving, also known as black Friday. People are rushing out to go shopping so they can get the newest electronics and gifts at a lower price. Most retail stores are now opening at 2 PM the day before and closing at midnight or just staying open for 24-30 hours. I've worked in retail for a few years and it's always a pain dealing with the people. The holiday season seems to bring out the worst in people as they deal with the employees. I know you want to shop at these stores because they have better deals but that doesn't give you the right to treat the employees poorly. I've had things thrown at me, and been yelled at because I wouldn't let them buy something that was supposed to go on sale after I close the first store which will also dramatically lower stock of the item and most likely leave people upset after I close.

I know working in retail isn't the most enjoyable thing but, it is a lot harder to go through the whole holiday season with people being rude and treating you poorly just because they want to shop. I'm sure most people don't think about this and that's what I'm here to change. Even just saying "thank you" at the end of the transaction would be nice.

Edit: Thank you guys for your input. I know I most likely won't change the view of the people that come to the store and complain and yell at us but, I do appreciate all of the kind comments. Hopefully next time you go to a store you'll remember this and say a quick "thank you".
