AITA for telling my boyfriend that we’re going on a break until he apologizes for doing something I told him I don’t like?

I (f26) told my boyfriend (m27) that I don’t like personal questions, because they make me feel like I owe him information about myself. He got upset and said that if I don’t want him asking me questions, I should do all the talking. I said that I don’t want to feel like I’m being interrogated, but he said that I’m making him feel like I don’t want to talk to him. Now he’s mad at me and I’m going on a break because he won’t apologize.

Context: We were talking about our favorite foods. I love spicy food and he doesn’t. He asked me why I love spicy food and I said that it’s because it tastes better, keeps me warm, and feels good. He asked me why it feels good and I said that it just does. He asked why it just does and I said that I don’t know. He kept asking me why, and I got annoyed and said that I told him I don’t like personal questions. He got upset and said that asking about food isn’t personal. I said that he was interrogating me, and he said that I’m making him feel like I don’t want to talk to him. I went silent and started avoiding him until he apologized, but he didn’t apologize. Instead, he told me that I’m being immature. Now I’m telling him that we’re going on a break until he apologizes, but he said that I’m making a big deal out of nothing. AITA?

Edit: To clarify, he asked me why I like spicy food, why it tastes better, why it keeps me warm, why it feels good, why it makes me warm, and why it makes me feel good.
