Throwaway Account for obvious reasons.

Edit: I had posted this on r/scarystories months ago, and today I saw a video on YouTube of a girl who had a similar experience. So I thought of sharing this here as well & see if the person I had met is active on this sub.

Ok so, here’s my story:

This happened few days after the lockdown had started in my country in the month of March 2020.

I was browsing online, and I found a short ad of modelling work on Facebook. The details were this that in a 5 star hotel, there was an audition going on for a modelling project. No experience needed & specially entry level models who want to pursue a career were given more preference. They asked for my height & pictures, & I sent it to them in their DM. They replied saying they’ve shortlisted me, but I’ll have to go to the hotel they’ve mentioned for an audition. I was surprised, but I confirmed the address they’d sent & then got ready. As it was during lockdown, I wasn’t able to tell my parents about this as they’re too protective and would’ve not allowed me to go. The hotel mentioned was a 15 minute walk from my home. They’d mentioned the time of 4 pm, and when I reached, I saw two men sitting in the lobby area. They saw me coming & asked if I’ve come for the audition. I said yes. One of the men went to the receptionist, gave a card to him, whispered something in his ears. I was too busy checking my phone. Then he looked at me & said please follow us. I didn’t want to raise any suspicion so I followed them. They were walking towards the lift, indicating to go upstairs. I asked which floor is the audition happening on, but the man just told me to get in the lift. I said no. I’m meeting you in the lobby. The man had opened his blazer & I could see a gun. He was hiding it, but I’m not sure if it was a real one. I got scared and ran towards the exit. I didn’t stop running until I reached my house. I told my parents about what happened, but my father’s friend told me they have me a valid address of the hotel, and they went to that hotel. When my father’s friend asked the reception, he denied having any audition. They told him that I’m just a minor, and this happened. I got extremely scared after that. The next day I got a text saying if you want to pursue this career, you’ll have to meet us once. I didn’t reply. I blocked that number too. I wasn’t able to trust anyone, and had extreme anxiety.

2 days ago, I saw a video of a girl in my country who had a similar experience. I just can’t imagine what would’ve happened to her if she’d gone too.

I just wanted to share this experience so people, especially young people, especially women, are able to protect themselves and be more aware of these things.

Edit: I just wanted to add, I’m not sure if they recognise me or not, but there was this time when I came out with my brother at a market after few days of this incident. Then there was a man who came towards me and called my name & started running. I ran towards my brother, and I heard the sound of a bike, it was the same man with the other man I’d seen in the hotel. My brother asked me what happened, but I just denied anything. I wasn’t going to risk my brother’s life. Thank God I’ve not got any calls or texts from them since then, and I hope the man is resting in peace.

Edit 2: I just wanted to clarify that I went to the address by myself. I wasn’t careless enough, but when I reached there, I saw those two men. I had no one else I’ve met from the “modeling agency” and I wasn’t sure who those men were. I didn’t know that they were waiting for me. If I’d have to meet them, then I would’ve met them in the parking lot, or I would have been stopped by the guards or security with my parents with me. I’ve auditioned for a few roles too, in which I had to go alone but they didn’t had any major issues. But I should have been more careful about this one, given the fact that it was during lockdown.
