Do I get to claim whiteness even if I’m half black?

I am half black and half white. I’m very light skinned. White people have always been more accepting of me than black people. Ours communities are predominantly white. I identify as black but I am a part white. I’ve read about biracial people that are more on the black side that claim whiteness to avoid anti blackness and to be treated better. If I claim whiteness am I betraying my black side. I am very proud of my black side but I’ve been treated better by my white side.
