I'm a Republican, and I think this sub does the GOP a massive disservice by making us out to be the "good guys"

I'm a gun owning Republican, I'm from a Southern state, and I consume media from both sides of the aisle. I come to this sub because I am a gun owner, and I like to keep up with gun news. However, it has become very apparent to me that the vast majority of people on this sub are not Republicans, but rather neo-libertarians/anarchists. What I mean by this is that the vast majority of the people on this sub are not proponents of traditional Conservatism (which I'll define for the sake of argument as Adam Smith-esque economics, slight social authoritarianism, and tradition). Rather, the majority of this sub is comprised of people who don't want any sort of gun control, believe the GOP is the lesser of two evils, but are otherwise very socially liberal and believe in an entirely small government attitude.

This Disney-esque view of "Republicans = the good guys, Democrats = the bad guys" is the main reason this sub is so echo-chamber-y and willfully ignorant. The GOP, and in turn Conservatism, has its fair share of flaws that you all refuse to acknowledge. It is people on this sub that give Conservatism a bad name. I think someone should go back and read some Burke, Smith, or Hayek. You'll find that traditional Conservatism is the political ideology that most closely aligns with libertarianism, but you would never know this from reading the comments on this sub.
