My wife has been peeking at me from around the corner all night. It's starting to get on my nerves.

I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth when my wife popped her head in and said "I'm going to sleep, see you tomorrow". Now usually, when she tells me this, I can hear the TV playing in the living room. Today I couldn't.

It's not like her to go to sleep before me, but I didn't think much of it considering it was 3 A.M. and she had work early. I finished washing up, turned out the bathroom light, and cracked the door open to peek around the corner.

My wife hadn't gone to sleep. She was crouched down in our hallway, peeking into the living room at the same angle I could see her face. I thought it was odd, but again, it wasn't like her. I shut the door and cracked it back open to peek again. She was still peeking around the corner, yet this time her eyes were on me. She offered me a slight, confused smile before turning to continue peeking.

I shut the door. And peeked again. She was still peeking. Every time I shut the door and cracked it open again, I expected her to be gone. To be walking to the bedroom or looking at me weirdly after catching me peeking on her peeking. Yet every time I opened the door, she was peeking.

I don't know how long I've been peeking now. Time seems to be going in circles. Every time I open the door, it feels like it's been 5 minutes. Every time I shut the door, it feels like it's been an hour. I'm getting worried for my wife and even more for myself.

I'm going to go out there. Wish me luck.
