I (f27) am the youngest child of 7. My parents have passed away. All of my siblings are married with children. I am the only single one. 3 of my siblings and their spouses live in the house my parents left for us.

I am the only sibling who doesn’t have kids. I am a medical student and I am close-ish to graduating (hopefully). My siblings have been pretty much been relying on me to generate income since we are living in the same house. I’m not complaining about it. I don’t really mind helping my siblings. I don’t mind donating either, but only my kids.

I recently lost a brother due to an accident. It was a nasty accident and his brain and other parts were mushed. But the rest of his body parts are still intact and a lot of people are in need of transplants. The doctor suggested that we donate his tissue or organs to anyone who needs them to which my family agreed to.

My brother and I weren’t that close, but I still love him and I’m devastated over his loss. I refused to donate his organs. My family went through the roof. They’re calling me an asshole for not letting them harvest his organs. My brother was brain dead and it’s not like he’s going to be awake anytime soon! But still, it just doesn’t feel right to me to let other people use my brother’s body parts.

I told them I will never donate his organs to anyone. They said I’m being selfish and insensitive. I’m being called an asshole for this and I honestly don’t know how to feel. Am I wrong for this?
