How likely is it that the state I live in is infiltrated with undercover agents from the Chinese government?

Okay so my friend told me that he heard that there is a law where Chinese immigrants can legally infiltrate the US by pretending to be citizens if they agree to work as undercover agents for the Chinese government while they're here. He said that they're allowed to work normal jobs and stuff until the Chinese government gives them instructions about a specific mission.

I know that Chinese immigrants are common and my family is Asian so I don't want to sound like one of those racist people who is accusing random Chinese-looking people of being spies or something. But I'm kind of worried because this is scary af if it's true.
