Why do women not want to date "nerd" guys?

I not saying i am one and I’m in a relationship already but knowing plenty of males who are let’s call it socially awkward and they are not rude or anything, they are not like your average jock looking guys and yet it seems like that is what everyone wants, I get that “looks play a big part but surely personality also matters, why do we not want to date these guys? Why do we automatically put not want to date a guy just because he is socially awkward
