Twitter engineers are scrambling to fix a major issue causing old tweets to be marked as "Twitter Media"

Twitter engineers are running an investigation into why tweets are being marked with a “Twitter media” watermark.<br><br>The issue began overnight and affects all types of tweets, with the platform placing the watermark next to tweets of all kinds. Setting privacy controls on the Twitter account does nothing to change the outcome.<br><br>As part of the investigation, users are being asked to share examples of their tweets that are being impacted.<br><br>The Twitter Support account said it was running an investigation into the issue.<br><br>“Some tweets may be showing a 'Twitter Media' watermark. We're currently looking into the issue and will provide an update soon,” it said in a post.<br><br>It is not clear when the issue will be fixed or how long it will last.<br><br>Fortune has reached out to Twitter for comment.<br><br>The issue may be a result of a current change to the platform.<br><br>Earlier today Twitter CEO Xavier Musk announced that the app will start to mark all user-generated media with a "Twitter" watermark. He said user-generated media would also be prioritized in the algorithm, while media from verified brands would be demoted.
