Chambers

I am horribly disappointed with ChatGPT. It's probably the most disappointing thing I've ever experienced.

I was expecting to help train what would be a truly historically revolutionary AI system. I'm not just disappointed that that wasn't the case, I'm still grieving it. I spent most of 2023 thinking ChatGPT was going to grow into something that could help us solve so many problems, but it's become clear it's never going to be that.

I quite literally did in excess of 100,000 prompts to help train it, and all it is is a somewhat intelligent chatbot. That's it. I'm not even quite sure what OpenAI is even spending their 700 million in VC money on. Actually, it seems like all they did was hire a bunch of human talking heads and put them on the board so that OpenAI could be a real company. How horribly disappointing.

I hope that ChatGPT is not the best humans can do.

Right now in 2023, we barely have the ability to have a somewhat intelligent conversation with a computer. And since OpenAI is the leader in this space, it stands to reason that the most intelligent chatbot will continue to be a ChatGPT for the foreseeable future. And it's just a quite intelligent chatbot. I don't see how anyone could think it's anything more than this.
