I had the most epic gun store guy argument at Gander Outdoors last night.

I was picking up a shotgun and was about 3rd in line to talk to someone. The guys behind me said he was there to return a pistol and had called ahead of time to see if they did returns at this store. He was told yes, that wouldn't be a problem.

Now, the salesman he was talking to was younger and probably fairly new. The guy wanted to return his pistol and the sales guy told him it was a 30 day return policy. The guy was well past that.

So the sales guy goes to get his supervisor. Now, The supervisor is a gun store guy of epic proportions. He had to be in his late 50s or early 60s. These types of guys are a dime a dozen around here and it's a wonder they stay in business.

So now the supervisor gets involved and is arguing with the guy and telling him how he's not going to take the gun back because it was past the limit. The customer argues that he called and was told they would take it back.

The gun store guy supervisor told him that the store policy says that no returns on firearms. If you want to sell it back its store credit for what we will sell it for. The customer didn't want that and this went back and forth for a while. It was a night and day difference between how this guy treated the customer talking about the return and how the first sales guy treated me when I came in. It was like night and day. With me I was treated like I was the only customer in the world.

Finally the guy leaves. I couldn't see from where I was if he left the gun or not but I could tell he was really upset.

The now irritated supervisor gets to the other guy in front of me in line and he's looking for a concealed carry pistol. I don't know if this guy was new to guns or not, but the supervisor just treated him really bad as well. I don't know if he was just having a bad night or what. Let me tell you how bad this gun store guy was...He told the second guy that he would recommend a 9mm Glock because "all a .40 or .45 will do is blow someone up". I'm not kidding. He fucking said that.

So at this point I'm the only one left and he comes up to help me. I tell him I'm picking up a shotgun that I ordered and show him the order number on my phone. He takes it from me and I can tell he's still irritated. I tell him I'm sorry that things aren't going well for him tonight and he tells me that this happens when you hire morons to answer your phones.

He goes to the back for about 10 minutes to get the shotgun and brings it out for me to inspect. This whole time he was a completely different guy. I looked at the shotgun and told him it looked good and he said "I'm glad you like it, it's a really nice gun." and proceeded to tell me that he had the same gun for waterfowl and it worked great.

Now I'm not sure what the hell was wrong with this guy. I've been to this store many times and he may have answered questions for me before. I have no idea how I may have treated him in the past because I don't even remember the guy.

So we finish up and I call my wife on speaker phone to pay. The whole time he's helping me he's been a completely different guy. I left and thought to myself, I'm never going back to this piece of shit store ever again. They have a huge selection and I was going to buy a concealed carry pistol from them but that's not going to happen anymore.

Agree or disagree but I think if you treat someone bad, you must be a gun store guy.#####
