Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said the company plans to cut 9,000 jobs as it lays off 3% of employees in another round of layoffs.<br><br>The tech giant is cutting positions in AI, cloud computing and advertising, alongside spokespeople and employees in human resources, this follows 18,000 layoffs announced in January, Jassy said on this month.<br><br>He states they opposed the layoffs and that they have a large number of employees working on new projects, including AI and advertising. They didn't say how many of them got laid off.<br><br>Jassy added that this was unusual, and that they were not opposed to the layoffs. This is in addition to the previously planned layoffs, and it's part of a broader effort to reorganize the company.<br><br>In February, Amazon said it was restructuring its CARE charity and laying off 179 employees.
