Just did a 30 minute layover with no gate change and made it. What now?

I’m currently on vacation with my wife on the other side of the world with no luggage and it looks like I’ll have to go home Saturday with no suitcase. <br><br>We departed out of LAX and the flight was delayed so I think we took off about 20-30 minutes late. Had a 30 minute layover on the other side with no gate change, but obviously made it. <br><br>So it seems like my Suiter took a different route on the layover and did not make it on my flight. It was checked in LAX but scanned in my destination city but not the airport. So now is it likely that since the route taken was different, that it won’t be here until next week. At least that’s what the claims person told me. <br><br>We are only here for 6 days so the chance of me seeing it again looks slim. I’ve had anything from multiple week delays to never seeing it again. So if it does happen that I get it back by the time I return home Saturday, great. But if not, what steps do I need to take that I can continue to track and get it when I’m back home? <br><br>I was told to get in contact with the airport I flew out of claims department, but I feel like there may be other options?<br><br>TLDR; Got to my destination with no suitcase, likely won’t have time for it to get to me before I fly back home and want to know what I need to do to get it back to me once I’m back home.
