Kinda like in this image, where every landmass is a large archipelago of smaller islands.

I see 2 effects:

* The lack of large landmasses would most likely allow for more efficient heat transfer between the 2 hemispheres, which could lead to a lack of seasonal changes. This would mean no polar ice caps, which would lead to higher sea levels, which would lead to even smaller islands.
* Having only smaller islands would probably hinder the evolution of mammoths, elephants, giraffes, rhinos, etc, as their main path to becoming large is through the idea of " stride and sweat ". So the fauna would mostly comprise of birds, snakes, lizards, smaller mammals, insects. Perhaps puffins could fill the niche occupied by wolves.

Anything else?
