CMV: If you are a conservative and you feel pushed out by our modern society, you're not being forced out. You're pushing yourself out because you refuse to adapt to the changing times.

Everyone gets their feelings hurt sometimes. If you feel like your very way of life is under attack from modern progressive society, then it is almost always because you are actively fighting against the social progress. Get with the times or get out of the way. If you refuse to recognize the humanity in trans people, or the systemic racism that Black people face, or that the climate is changing, then you are in the way. Go hang out with the Amish or something, or move to a rural area surrounded only by people who think the same way as you. Don't tell me it's sad that things aren't like they were in the "good old days", because those days were not good for everyone. And if you feel like the modern values of acceptance, compassion, and equality are a personal attack on you or your way of life, then maybe you should reexamine your values.

EDIT: I was using "conservative" as a stand-in for something more close to "traditionalist" or "reactionary". If you think that liberals are pushing things too far to the left, you're probably not pushing yourself out of mainstream society. The point is that if you find yourself on the wrong side of social progress, then it is your responsibility to change your mind and adapt to the changing world.
