Why do people post about how they never got caught?

Like what’s the point of telling people you haven’t been caught? You get caught and lose your freedom, that’s it. I’m never gonna steal a million dollars worth of shit in my life. I may as well write on here that I never got caught downloading pirated movies and music either, just to be safe.
