An app for readers.

I’m a big fan of reading and as I’ve recently started visiting libraries a lot (they’re amazing!). I was thinking an app that could help me identify books that I would find interesting, by using the following features:<br><br>1) **Location**: The library that I am in is where I will be looking. Why not start by getting that specific library’s book list? <br><br>2) **Category**: The app asks me for a preferred category that I am interested to read in, for instance: “african-american studies”, “biography”, “fiction”, “poetry”, “political science”, “children’s literature”, “arabic”, etc. Each one of these categories would have its own subcategories, for example: “biography” would have “memoir”, “autobiography”, “diary”, “letters”, “essays”, “speeches”, “interview”, “oratory”, “epistolary”, etc. (These categories are just examples. The app would get it’s list from the library’s catalog, where they’re already categorized.)<br><br>3) **Favorites**: This would be my favorite authors (I can add my favorites to a list). They’re not just limited to authors, they could also be “topics” that interest me, like “philosophy”, “physics”, “social psychology”, “gay rights”, etc (I have an existing list of topics, some of which I got from Wikipedia). If I say "philosophy", then I would see books by the library that are categorized as "philosophy", if I say "Machiavelli", then I would see books by Machiavelli that the library has, under all categories.<br><br>4) **Keywords**: I could use keywords to search through the library books, similar to Google search. The app would show me books that have the keyword/s in the title, author, or keywords (key phrases).<br><br>5) **Recommendations**: The app would ask for the books that I enjoyed reading, so it could recommend books with the same topics or from the same authors. It would show me new books that I haven’t read and could recommend them to me.<br><br>6) **Map**: I get a map of the library, and from it I could know where the books I’m interested in are, and track my path through the library by clicking on the desired books. It would give me a shorter route in terms of which books I see first.<br><br>7) **Notes**: I can write notes about the books I’ve read, and give them a rating. It would save it under the “Read” tab. I would have another tab “Saved”, where I could save books that I’m not currently reading but would read later. <br><br>8) **Reviews**: I could see reviews of the book from other readers who have used this app. I think Goodreads already has that feature. <br><br>These are the core features that I thought of, I’m sure there are a lot of other features that could be added.
