No Kids at a Wedding

The bride and groom were sweet. My bridesmaid dress fit perfectly. The weather was perfect. The food was delicious. The music was excellent. The hotel provided a shuttle and escort, free breakfast, and a generous supply of ice.

I had a great time, and enjoyed everyone I talked to.

Why? Because there were no children at the wedding. The bridesmaids didn't have to worry about their families; we could all enjoy the weekend without having to find a sitter for the night. The bride and groom didn't have to worry about kids getting bored, tired, or overwhelmed. We could dance and drink without worrying.

There were only two babies, and they both slept through the reception.

I have been to weddings with many children. I've learned the hard way to always ask if a reception is kid friendly. I love kids, but I don't want them at weddings. Neither do a lot of other people.

If you are getting married-consider an adult only wedding. If you are a guest at a wedding-please don't bring unexpected children. Put yourself in the other guests' shoes, who paid $200-500 minimum to attend.

Edit-I would like to say that I've never been to a wedding that didn't allow breast feeding/pumping. The babies on this wedding were at a babysitter off site.
