Mainstream education is very flawed, in my opinion. It doesn't teach you how to function in the real world (how to do taxes, how to do basic car maintenance, etc.) and barely prepares you for college. On top of that, it doesn't even teach you how to be a functioning human being (how to have a conversation, how to have good time management skills, etc.) It doesn't even allow you to think for yourself. Class after class after class, you are encouraged to learn how to memorize and regurgitate information, and then forget it. Don't even get me started on standardized testing. The curriculum is outdated and biased, and if you don't fit into a cookie cutter definition of "normal", then you will have a very hard time.

So what are your thoughts on mainstream education, and what changes would you make to the system?
