AITA for bringing up how my brother’s wife is bi-racial whenever her says anything about “white” or “black” people?

My brother and I both have a pretty diverse group of friends, but his wife is more picky on who she's friends with. She's bi-racial. White mom black dad. My brother, his wife and I are all in our mid-twenties.

My brother and his wife have been together for six years. They got married last year. For the past couple of years I’ve felt uncomfortable whenever they visit and my brother and his wife are talking about “white” or “black” people. My brother and his wife just say whatever they mean. Obviously I’m not offended by the words “white” or “black” but I feel bad anytime my brother says stuff like “white people always do X”, “black people always do Y”, “I don’t like white people” or “I don’t like black people.” I don’t like her saying stuff like this because she’s bi-racial.

Whenever my brother says stuff like this I usually just politely interrupt and say something like “Well Akira is half black and half white. Does that mean YOU always do X, Y, and Z? Do you mean that YOU don’t like yourself?” My brother and his wife get pissed at me whenever I say stuff like this. They usually shout back at me like “Obviously not, that’s not what I mean!” Then I’m like “So you only mean part of her? Which parts of her is [adjective]?” My brother and his wife will usually just say I’m stupid for thinking like this and tell me to be less sarcastic.

My brother and his wife recently visited and my brother and I got into another argument over this. My friend group chat was discussing a video of a white guy with a gun who harassed a black woman and I showed it to my brother. The first thing he said back to me when he watched the video was “Fuck white people.” I asked him “What do you mean fuck white people? What about you? You’re married to a white woman.” He said “Obviously that’s not what I mean.” Then I asked “So you mean you want to fuck part of Akira, but not the other part? That’s pretty fucked up.” My brother yelled back at me “YOU KNOW THAT’S NOT WHAT I MEAN! JUST STOP! YOU ALWAYS DO THIS!” I told him “I’m just curious as to what you mean. You say you don’t like white people, you don’t like black people, white people always do this, black people always do that, but I know a white/black person who is a dear member of our family, so I’m just asking you to make it clear what you mean.” My brother told me to “shut the fuck up” and he just left the room. Him and his wife didn’t talk to me for the rest of their visit.

They’ve been angry ever since their visit. They’ve both been telling me I’m stupid for thinking like I do. My parents think I’m a jerk and that it was a bad idea to keep asking my brother questions like that. They said it was clear what my brother meant. They told me I was just being intentionally thick in order to annoy my brother. I don’t think I did anything wrong. I think it’s pretty messed up to say you don’t like ALL members of a certain race, and I’m going to keep pointing out how my brother’s wife is bi-racial anytime he says stuff like that.
