My neighbour is “the guy”

I live near “the guy” that recently “attacked a family and kidnapped a little girl who is still missing”<br><br>I saw his arrest go down…<br><br>I am his landlord…<br><br>I’d like to say that I’m pretty sure he is not “the guy”<br><br>I really wanna man up and tell the police what I saw…<br><br>Heres the thing tho…<br><br>Last week, I had a knock at the door. (I’m guessing an hour before the police came)<br><br>A woman with her husband and 5 children came and asked for the guy.<br><br>The couple were acting really weird…<br><br>I told them I’m the landlord but I don’t know who they are talking about…<br><br>She goes “the guy”… like they were old friends or something…<br><br>I said “we have tenants in all the houses here, I don’t know anyone who is called “the guy””<br><br>She then said “the guy with the head injury”…<br><br>I thought it was weird but I thought naaa…<br><br>She told me that they hadn’t seen him in a while because of an injury and she was worried.<br><br>I told her I hadn’t seen him… (I had seen him earlier in the week)<br><br>As I’m talking the husband and kids go to the side of the house…<br><br>I pretend I didn’t notice…<br><br>We keep making small talk for a few minutes…<br><br>Then my wife comes to the door…<br><br>The woman instantly gets agro with her…<br><br>My wife asks “who is this?”…<br><br>I answer… “They say they are looking for “the guy””<br><br>As I’m answering…<br><br>The husband and kids are all looking through the windows…<br><br>My wife starts yelling and screaming at them to get off our property…<br><br>We close the door and 2 minutes later the police knock on the door…<br><br>The woman and her family are arrested outside…<br><br>The police told us that the person they are looking for is the woman…<br><br>She was the one who attacked the family…<br><br>What I can’t understand is…<br><br>Who were they looking for in our house???<br><br>Was it us?<br><br>Because “the guy” would have told them that he lives in a house with a family…<br><br>Was my “no” enough to save us???<br><br>It’s been a few days and the whole thing is just sinking in…<br><br>I’ve been pretty active during this time… keeping my eyes open…<br><br>Sometimes I find myself eyeing people… thinking “are you the one who was at my door”….<br><br><br>The police say that the missing girl is probably dead…<br><br>It really is a shame that the woman was caught…<br><br>I really wish that they had just let her in my house…<br><br><br>I didn’t know how to end this…<br><br>So yeah…
