Digital immortality aside…

While most in cryonics think digital is the way forward, there are some people who think cryonics is sufficient to get to a world where medical technology is advanced enough to reverse the effects of cryopreservation.

Actually, I think that the real truth is most people in cryonics are thinking they’ll just be defrosted and cured of disease, and never have to bother with the upload.

This is the same problem with life extension. In the public eye, the whole point is to live 200 years of normal life, but in reality, it is just a step to eventual immortality.

What it would it mean to have the most desirable life ahead of you, and be able to go back and relive your favorite experiences, even after the heat death of the universe?

But what if it’s all just a simulation?
