[Local] Advice on Potentially Cursed Cuckoo Clock

So, my job is to get stuff out of people's attics and crawlspaces, and sometimes I find household objects like old kitchenware and trinkets. It's all pretty mundane.

Yesterday, though, I discovered an old cuckoo clock with this sort of distressed finish. Not really my style, but it's definitely been around a while, and when I showed it to some coworkers they were quite impressed. Considered bringing it home, but honestly... something about it is unsettling.

I'm not one to believe in curses, but I've got to admit, I was doing just fine in life before I carried this clock outside. Then, I got a call from my boss. Considerable drop in my utilities stock, so, no more early retirement. Finances are tight, so I'm considering this clock my good luck charm: not getting it professionally appraised, not getting it cleaned at an antique shop, no weird ritualistic sacrifices. Just leaving it out of sight until I can figure out how I'm going to get it into the hands of someone who knows what they're doing, and who isn't just looking for a quick buck.

Randomly got a call from a guy I dated freshman year. About to call him back to see if we can meet up for coffee. Was he just feeling nostalgic? Or is the maintenance demon trying to give me a pleasant distraction? Considering getting something to eat, but, considering my new financial situation, maybe I should be reconsidering about this clock.
